The Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) has announced gate reassignments at Terminal 2 of Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) effective 1 August 2026, as construction of the new airside concourse progresses on schedule. International departures operated by Emirates (EK), Qatar Airways (QR) and Etihad Airways (EY) will be relocated to Gates 20–28 in the expanded eastern wing. Passengers travelling on these airlines are advised to allow additional transit time of 15–20 minutes within the terminal. Temporary wayfinding signage will be installed from 25 July. The new concourse, expected to open fully in early 2027, will add 12 new gates and increase terminal capacity by 40%.
