The United Arab Emirates government has officially extended the visa-on-arrival facility for holders of Sri Lankan passports for an additional 12 months, effective from July 2026. The visa grants a 30-day stay with the option to extend for a further 30 days at a cost of AED 250. Sri Lankan travellers arriving at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) are eligible. Travellers must hold a valid return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds for their stay. The extension is expected to benefit thousands of Sri Lankan workers, tourists and business travellers visiting the UAE annually.
