Air India has issued a commercial circular confirming an 8% increase in fuel surcharges on all international routes effective 1 July 2026. The increase affects tickets purchased on or after the effective date. Passengers who have already purchased tickets before 1 July will not be subject to the surcharge increase. Routes from Colombo affected include AI 273/274 (CMB–DEL), AI 275/276 (CMB–BOM) and AI 277/278 (CMB–CCJ). The airline has cited sustained high global jet fuel prices as the primary reason for the adjustment. Travellers planning journeys after 1 July are advised to book immediately to secure current fare levels. AirlyGo can assist with bookings via WhatsApp.
